Our history

Double R Steel was established in 1994 in Kitchener, Ontario, by Rick and Randy Gondosch (the double Rs) in response to a need for re-squaring, bevelling and rolling of plate steel for Ontario-based metal fabricators.

The company grew steadily to the point where its original location was too small and in 1999 Double R moved to a new 20,000 sq. ft. facility in Kitchener.

Six years later it was time to move again and in 2005, coincident with a change in ownership, the business relocated to 41 Ardelt Place in Kitchener.

This new home, with 30,000 sq. ft. of fully-craned manufacturing space, provides all the room Double R needs to continue the tradition of delivering on-time, top quality plate and structural processing to fabricators, engineering firms and OEM's.
